"Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature."
Mark 16:15
Evangelize Your Community
My desire is to partner with local churches to evangelize their community by coming alongside and helping them. The gift of the Evangelist is for the perfecting of the saints, empowering them to perform the work of the ministry (Eph 4). It is not my desire to evangelize the community alone, but to work with individuals in the church enabling them to evangelize their community.
While methods of evangelizing communities vary, in many instances, a visitation program is an ideal platform to engage the saints in the work of the ministry. Jobs are demanding, houses need maintenance, and life seems busier than ever before. By planning a designated time specifically for seed sowing, it permits families to plan this time of labor in the fields into their busy schedules.
Discipleship is integral to this plan and must be developed by and performed by the local church. The relationship and bond that discipleship brings should be developed with the local church.
My goal is that visitation will continue long after I have come and gone. I will be looking to identify and train someone to organize the visitation effort so that the seed sowing will continue.
Edify the Saints
I offer both corporate and individual training. Corporate training through the avenues of teaching and preaching, and individual training in the form of working one-on-one performing outreach in the community. Corporate training will focus on the Gospel, what it is, how to share it clearly, how to lead someone to Christ, the importance of discipleship, and the importance of regularly and systematically sowing seed. Individual training will be hands-on talking to real people in the community. The best way to learn to be evangelistic is to be evangelistic.
As people go out into their own community in obedience to the commands of Scripture, they will be confronted with the need in their own back yard. Recognizing that the need is so prevalent at home will transform how a person lives, often igniting a burden for souls both at home and abroad.
Emphasize Gospel Clarity
The Gospel is a simple and powerful message, and we must learn to communicate that message in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. There is only one Gospel that can save and we must be careful not to add to it or take away from it.
The Bible makes it clear that salvation is a free gift. In contrast, being a disciple is very costly, and being sanctified involves much cooperation with the Holy Spirit and willing conformance to the Word of God. We must rightly divide the Word of God and use passages of Scripture dealing with the subject of salvation when sharing the Gospel.
